How is your artwork made?

My digital artworks are all hand-illustrated on an iPad creation software called Procreate. Starting from a blank "canvas" and using my apple pencil as a "paintbrush", I choose colors and brushes to render every inch of your pet's features into an authentic, original work of art.

The portraits are NOT created by AI or any type of photo editing.

Can you create a portrait with a low quality reference photo?

A high quality photo is preferred for best results, however, I do understand that you might not always have one available to send, especially for pets that have long passed over the rainbow bridge. I certainly don't want this to stop you from having a lasting artwork you can treasure forever.

If you have any concerns about the photo, double check with me that I can make it work by sending an email to info@petprintsbycblice.com. I will be sure to let you know asap so that you can move forward with placing an order.

If you are ordering as a gift for someone with a living pet, consider purchasing a gift card so they can choose their preferred reference photo to send.

Can I choose a custom background or bandana for my pet’s portrait?

Yes! I'd love to add your favorite collar, bandana or bow tie to the portrait.

For Realistic style portraits:

I can exchange the white background for a solid color or subtle texture, possibly even a simple pattern. Choose to include your pet's name if you prefer.

If you have a complex background in mind, check in with me to discuss price options for purchase via venmo.

Can you paint multiple pets on the same print?

I encourage getting each pet their own print and then displaying as a collection, however, if you are set on having a print with multiple pets on the same surface, send me an inquiry and I can discuss some price options for purchase via venmo!

What can I do with the digital artwork that comes with my print?

Your digital art in itself can be very versatile!

  • use it as your phone lock screen or computer wallpaper
  • set as your pet's profile photo on instagram
  • share to friends or family via a digital frame

If you are interested in using it for any special personal projects, send me a message with your request. I will likely be happy to give written permission! As it represents your pet, I encourage making the most out of your custom-made portrait. Some fun products to make using your pet's portrait look like:

  • a t-shirt with your portrait on the front or back
  • a sweatshirt with a sleeve of your pet's face
  • note cards that include your pet's name
  • stickers with your pet's instagram handle to share with friends
  • wedding cookies, mugs, pillows, etc.
  • personalized "best dog father" or "best dog mom" mugs

Should I choose a Fine Art Print or Canvas (Realistic Portraits only)?

I have partnered with a fine art printing company to ensure you receive the highest quality prints. This company uses state of the art materials and equipment that outproduces any home printer. It typically takes a week or two for production, at which point I am able to pick up and package for safe delivery to your doorstep. See more about Prints and Canvases here.

What SIZE print should I choose?

The one-of-a-kind print is yours to frame as you choose. Take it to your framer to select something that matches your unique style.

NOTE: Descriptions referring to pet size appearance (larger than life/life size/etc.) apply to realistic style portraits only.

If I am placing an order that contains different product type or size quantities, how do I specify the pet I want on each?

When you send me an email with your reference photos, you can specify there!

EXAMPLE:

These are the reference photos for "Shadow", for the 20x24 fine art print.

Here are the photos for "Sally", for the 8x10 canvas.

Can I order additional prints of my portrait?

Certainly! I don't have an option to purchase additional prints on my website, but if you get in contact with me I'll be happy to discuss payment options via venmo.

ORDER EXPECTATIONS

What comes with my order?

All orders include:

  1. The original digital artwork in the form of a jpeg/png image (300 dots per inch) for you to keep forever. I'll keep a copy of the digital artwork in cloud-based storage so that if anything happens to your physical print (or if you just want additional copies), you are able to order replacement re-print(s).
  2. The fine art print or stretched canvas chosen at checkout.

What is your turnaround time for custom portraits?

Check the announcement banner at the top of my shop home page for the most up-to-date turnaround time (from confirmation of reference photo receipt to portrait delivery).

Can I place an order and provide my reference photos later?

I recommend having your reference photos ready to go at the time you place your order. The estimated turnaround time in my shop banner assumes you provide your photos within a few days of placing an order. If you hold off, the wait time may change, and your portrait may take longer to have made for you.

Can you accommodate delivery deadlines for gifts?

If you have a deadline, such as for a gift, it’s best to check with me and wait for me to confirm prior to placing an order. I am busiest during major holidays. I will certainly do my best to accommodate!

Will you ship to a gift recipient's address?

Absolutely, just enter the shipping address for the gift at checkout.

If ordering more than one portrait, each going to different locations, split into multiple orders. The shipping addresses will be captured at checkout and you can specify which pet is for which order number when you send your reference photos.

Can custom art be exchanged, returned or refunded?

I have several processes in place to ensure you will be happy with the final artwork and print of your portrait, therefore I cannot issue any refunds after the artwork is in process. Please make sure all your questions are answered before you place an online order!
